Alejandro Betancourt López was Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Alejandro has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of London and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Alejandro entered the gas distribution industry in 1974 and has held numerous management positions. In 1994 he founded an international energy company that has won contracts in more than two dozen countries. He also served as Dimock Coal Gas Services, with several subsidiaries, including New Age Corporation, a leader in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) volume transportation business.
Alejandro Betancourt joined the oil company NIOC as an engineer and was promoted to group Executive Manager at its Refining and Marketing Division. He advanced to become Business Development Manager for Petrochemical and Petroleum Systems at NIOC’s Regional Sales Department. He then became General Manager of a multinational corporation interested in International Energy Trading, Oilfield Services, Foreign Trade consulting, and Property Development.
Alejandro Betancourt is a recipient of the 2006 Humanitarian Award from the Council on Foreign relations. In 2007 he received a grant for a project with OPEC’s Research Department on improving gas-to-chemical production and performance in Industry 4.0. He will promote the use of renewable technologies in petrochemical plants worldwide.
