BeachbodyBeachBody was a struggling startup in 1998, and it operated under the vision of co-founders Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon. Their vision was to promote health and fitness in the home through the release of numerous well-designed products. As the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Daikeler was given the important task of creating and marketing those products. Because of his prior work in marketing, he was familiar with product development, international distribution and other relevant areas. His skills in these and other areas have been put to great use throughout the company’s history.

In fact, Daikeler harnessed his background and his established expertise to release 8-Minute Abs, which was BeachBody’s first workout program. Because of Carl Daikeler’s success with this program, the road was paved for him to continue growing BeachBody’s product line. Its products, which have delved into personal fitness as well as weight loss, have included popular options like Shakeology, Body Beast, P90X, INSANITY and 21-Day Fix.

Because marketing has been Carl Daikeler’s strong suit, he was able to reap the benefits of innovative marketing opportunities early on. For example, he identified the potential of social media marketing and made BeachBody an early adopter. Likewise, he innovatively used influencers and customer ambassadors before most other companies were using them.

Daikeler had another opportunity to make BeachBody stand apart from the competition during the pandemic. Its competitors, like Peloton and Nautilus, were already offering varied workout options to consumers when gyms started shutting their doors. However, their solutions required the purchase of expensive fitness equipment. This was not feasible for many displaced gym members who needed an affordable alternative. Daikeler led BeachBody to higher profits by meeting their needs. Through his development of BeachBody On-Demand, he has granted them access to 80 different workout programs via streaming video. The cost of a subscription is only $99 annually and is offered without the need to buy other equipment.

BeachbodyCarl Daikeler has a steady history of growing BeachBody’s revenue stream and value over the years. In fact, the company produces more than $1 billion annually today. Its current value stands at more than $2.3 billion.
