Isidoro Quiroga is one of the most successful chilean businessmen in the international market. Quiroga is the CEO of Asesorías e Inversiones Benjamín, a Chilean-based holding group. Quiroga receives help in managing the Chilean-based firm from his family and business associates. The Chilean businessman has had a very successful career as a manager and investor in several industries. These include salmon fishing, mining, energy, exporting, agriculture, and even real estate.
Isidoro Quiroga embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in the 1970s. This was after graduating from the University of Chile with a degree in engineering and going to the United States shortly after. Once in the United States, Quiroga learned about the kiwi fruit and started importing this fruit to his motherland. Later, Quiroga took advantage of the gaps in the energy sector by investing heavily. During this period, he managed renowned companies in the region, including Soquimich and Empresa Elèctrica Pilmaiquén. The mining industry was the next investment arena for Quiroga. The new venture created an avenue for him to manage Andacollo Gold, Junior Investment Company based in Australia, and Minera Fuego.
Quiroga led Australis Seafoods in Chile when the salmon anemia virus affected all Chilean-based salmon companies and tainted their reputation in the international market. However, he still managed to steer the company. Soon enough, the company emerged as the leading fishing market company in the country by the end of the year. In 2009, Quiroga sold Australis Seafoods for 91 million dollars to a Chinese company. Even after selling the company, he remained a member of its management board and helped consolidate it globally as a leading salmon exporter. Quiroga played a crucial role in helping the company become public and be listed on the Santiago de Chile Stock Exchange. In 2021, Quiroga sold Enphase Energy for 819 million dollars after buying the company for 20 million dollars in 2018. Isidoro Quiroga plans to invest in the technology sector, focusing on San Francisco’s Silicon Valley. With his ability to identify potential investment opportunities and manage large companies, it would be no surprise to see him become a key player in this sector within the next few years.
